Your Apprenticeship at FASSNACHT

Thank you very much for your interest in an apprenticeship with us!

Our company has been in business since 1990.

During this time, we have grown to become one of the most successful companies in our industry and have received numerous awards for our achievements (You can find out more about us as a dream employer here).

However, our goal was never to achieve massive growth. We wanted - and still want - to remain a small, owner-managed company where friendly collaboration, enjoyment of work, and an excellent work environment take center stage.

Even though we are equipped with state-of-the-art, high-quality machinery, our employees will always be the most important factor in our success. To ensure that we can continue to be successful in the future, we need the next generation of talent. And that's where you come in.

Apply now to become part of our corporate family!

What you'll learn

Whether it's a cell phone case, a cordless screwdriver, or a toothbrush: plastic products are everywhere in our daily lives. Very few people, however, know how they're actually made.

The answer is a process called injection molding. In this process, molten plastic is injected into a mold under high pressure and hardens into the desired item. Even fewer people, however, know how these molds are actually made.

And that's exactly where our work begins. For us, toolmaking has nothing to do with building hammers and screwdrivers. We develop and manufacture complex injection molds weighing several metric tons, which are needed to produce millions of everyday items.

During your apprenticeship, you'll not only learn how to manufacture high-precision components using our state-of-the-art machinery, a keen eye for detail, and plenty of teamwork. (By the way, 'high-precision' for us means that the dimensions often have to be accurate to within 0.01 mm.) You'll also learn how these components are ultimately assembled and fine-tuned to create a highly complex and one-of-a-kind product.

And you can see what it looks like in the end in the pictures here.

How you'll learn

The apprenticeship offers you an exciting mix of theory and hands-on experience and lasts 3.5 years*. The training typically begins on September 1st each year, though exceptions may be made in special cases.

At our company, you'll learn the practical aspects of the trade, such as manufacturing precision parts, operating machinery, and programming CNC machines. At the same time, vocational school will teach you the theoretical fundamentals, such as technical mathematics, materials science, and work planning.

During your apprenticeship, you'll be integrated into our production operations as early as possible. You won't be learning on practice pieces in a training workshop - instead, you'll be directly involved in real projects for our customers. This requires a high degree of reliability on your part, but it offers you unique, hands-on learning and development opportunities.

* If you perform very well, there's also potential to shorten the program.
